Attorney Morgan Leigh is an experienced litigator with 15 years of experience working with clients in criminal, domestic violence, and administrative matters in Maryland and District of Columbia state and federal courts.

Ms. Leigh began her career as a public defender in Montgomery County, Maryland where she represented hundreds of clients in misdemeanor and felony cases. After her time as an Assistant Public Defender, she joined the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) panel where she represented hundreds of clients in misdemeanor and felony cases in D.C. Superior Court. During this time, Ms. Leigh also ran her own law firm where she handled a variety of cases, including but not limited to theft, DUI, fraud, domestic violence, protective orders, assault, record expungements, and handgun permit revocations and denials. She also handled numerous civil protective orders, extreme risk protective orders, and peace orders.

Ms. Leigh also worked with the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) in Montgomery County, Maryland where she represented law enforcement in both criminal and administrative matters ranging from administrative suspensions to officer-involved shootings to officers charged with crimes. During her time working with the FOP, she handled a variety of civil actions, jury trials, and an arbitration.

Ms. Leigh also zealously represented clients at two boutique law firms in the DMV area before reopening her solo law practice in 2024. During this time, she developed specialized training and knowledge in firearms laws. As an independent program attorney for U.S. Law Shield, an insurance program for firearm owners, she co-authored Maryland Gun Law: Armed and Educated in 2022. As a result of her specialized knowledge in firearms laws, she successfully litigated numerous firearm self-defense and protective order cases. Ms. Leigh also has extensive experience representing individuals in domestic violence criminal matters and protective orders. She has successfully handled complex and high-conflict protective orders involving custody issues and allegations of child abuse.
